With fourteen of his novels having risen to Number One on the New York Times’ Hardcover Bestseller list, Dean Koontz is part of an illustrious group of writers who have achieved this milestone. Additionally, his books have been best-sellers in countries such as Sweden and Japan. Ashley Bell is yet another masterpiece from Koontz.

In Ashley Bell, Koontz talks about Bibi Blair, an author and daughter of surfer parents who has been writing since childhood. Dean Koontz depicts Bibi Blair as a down to earth person. The story starts off with Bibi Blair finding out that she has an untreatable form of brain cancer and only has a year to live. Bibi then fights two different battles simultaneously and this is something the book illustrates quite magnanimously.

Ashley Bell is based around Bibi Blair, a young and beautiful author who has a seemingly great life ahead of her. However, the story takes an unexpected turn when Bibi is diagnosed with an untreatable form of brain cancer all of a sudden, and slips into a coma. She then wakes up from her coma a day later and astonishes everyone by claiming that she has been completely cured as a result of an encounter with a strange man. Additionally, she announces her new mission in life which is to save someone by the name of Ashley Bell. The book offers a riveting experience as it is full of suspense, mystery, and adventure that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

This is a compelling story from Dean Koontz and definitely worth a read if you want something that will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat till the very end!
