The Summer Place

Diana Chambers, a former Oregon cop, is now a  social matron in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Learning her husband is a homicidal criminal and her life is in danger, she gives evidence to the Albuquerque DA,  and escapes. Rejecting WitSec, to take her chances in Oregon, where she belongs, as Quinn Summer, she hides in a family summer place, a secret community accessible only by boat, deep in the Willamette Forest.

With a police dog her godfather mails to her, and her off-duty weapon, Quinn cleans up an abandoned cabin and meets her neighbors, including a wanted terrorist, an animal abuse; a pair of refugees;  an enemy she never expected to see again; and a helper who is never far from her side, but hides secrets of his own. Is she in greater danger than she left behind?
