MOONLIT DAWN – Book Review

Alethea is a comic book artist/freelance illustrator as well as the artist/creator to “Moonlit Dawn: A Mythical Tale.” She specializes in digital/traditional mediums and has collaborated with writers such as Braiden Cox, Alex Giles, and Jordan King. Alethea has contributed sequential art to several anthologies. She found her love for creating comics in her early teens and has become blissfully addicted to it. Originally from Oregon, Alethea currently lives in Anchorage, Alaska with her husband.

MOONLIT DAWN: A MYTHICAL TALE – PROLOGUE

Amidst a cascading waterfall, a male wolf is peeking over a cliff ready to make a permanent decision for his life. He doesn’t remember his name, he doesn’t remember his past, and all he knows is that he’s a monster. When he’s ready to take a plunge, a lonely she-wolf looking, who names herself Flare, arrives with a grin. After sharing an intimate discussion, Flare decides to remain by his side to prevent the unnamed male wolf from doing anything drastic.  The pair shatters their walls, peaking into their vulnerable corners, as they allow their fates to become intricately woven.

MOONLIT DAWN: A MYTHICAL TALE – CHAPTER ONE

Flare and the unnamed wolf now called Stride, are preparing for their unborn cubs. But first they must request a goddesses blessing to protect them as they grow into adulthood. After conducting the ritual to summon goddess Mirna, the new parents are dismayed when the she denies their request. The following weeks, Flare and Stride trek on weary paws to find a home. However, their journey comes to a halt as the twin sister to Mirna, a corrupt goddess named Essence, wedges her way into Flare and Stride’s path as she threatens to take one of the cubs for herself.

MOONLIT DAWN: A MYTHICAL TALE – CHAPTER TWO

After healing from the fight with Essence, Stride and Flare have finally found a place to call home. Except before they could celebrate, Flare notices two of their cubs have the markings of Gaia, permanent symbols proclaiming the Fates have already decided the two cub’s futures. Infuriated, Stride attempts a drastic measure to “save” his children. Flare must find a way to break through Stride’s fury and make him see reason with Stride or risk the safety of their family. Meanwhile, Essence is on the prowl as she readies for the coming battle as she howls to awaken her army.
