Erik Hertwig is a graduate of St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. His decision to become an author prompted him to major in English Literature, Secondary Education, and pursue a career working with children as an English teacher author, consultant, publisher, and motivational speaker.
Erik is the creator of the Zoo Adventure Series a series of children books that centers on the crazy antics of a group of animal friends that take place in a fictional zoo; He is the creator of the Dragonfly Sorcery Series, the first novel is a fantasy hero’s journey archetype novel about a half elf’s coming of age journey into adulthood; several short fantasy stories based in the same Dragonfly Sorcery world; and technical manuals that focus on teaching writing composition and career advancement.
The Zoo Adventure Series books are beginning and intermediate reader illustrated books designed to draw readers in with beautifully colored illustrations and entertain them with the wild crazy antics of the characters. Those characters include Robbie, a raccoon inventor with an insatiable desire to search trash cans raid storage rooms for the materials to create his inventions; Orville, a fun loving otter who always seems to have his swim workouts interrupted by some crisis that can’t be avoided; and Penny, a fashion conscious prairie dog who absolutely hates to dig and often finds a way to trick her annoying brother into doing it.
Robbie, Orville, Penny and the gang are back in book #2, Sweet Tooth. The zany antics resume in the series’ second book when the animals are troubled by the increased number of bees found in the zoo. After a solution to being stung is found they go in search of the bee source only to discover another friend in trouble.
