What works best for you: Typewriters, fountain pen, dictate, computer or longhand? Actually a good word processing program on a computer works best however a good pack of post it notes works wonders for capturing ideas, thoughts, reflections and just plain silly notions while you write. It’s amazing how your writing room wall can fill up with multicolored stickys.
Writers are often associated with loner tendencies; is there any truth to that? It really depends on the individual writer. Sure there have been some great works of literature by some super loners but were those works “fun” to read. A good writer uses his experiences with people to write a good book. Locking yourself away from people robs you of fantastic experiences.
How realistic are your books? Based on world events, well, they are extremely realistic. There is a flood of evil in today’s world. Everyone is looking for the “good guy” to combat the evil and this is what the book(s) provide. Our stories could very well be real. Michigan has one of the most porous borders in the United States and the sooner we come to grips with that the safer we’ll all be.
Is it true that anyone can be a writer? Sure… If you have ever had a moment where your imagination and dreams kicked in then you can be a writer. Most people don’t because they overload their imagination and dreams with the fear of being rejected or feeling “dumb”. Please don’t feel that way and overcome your trepidations. Just sit down with a bunch of sticky notes and start jotting down anything that comes to mind. Remember no one ever became an instant success. Failure is the great teacher. Those who fail to try fail to achieve.
