The writing life – that’s for me

What did you want to become when you were a kid?

I wanted to be an artist.

Do you recall the first ever book/novel you read?

Vividly – The Black Stallion at age 7

Who are your books mostly dedicated to?

Nearly always to my husband.

Do you have a day job other than being a writer? And do you like it?

Yes.  I am a cover designer and graphic artist and I love it.  I’m truly blessed to be able to do that I love the most – create art and write.

Does your day job ever get in the way of your writing?

No.  Fortunately, I am self employed and set my own hours.  So, I spent the mornings doing artwork and the afternoons are devoted to writing.

Another misconception is that all writers are independently wealthy, how true is that?

In terms of dollars and cents, most writers are not among the most financially affluent.

Are you friends with other writers?

I am.  Some of my best friends are writers.

If you were given the opportunity to form a book club with your favorite authors of all time, which legends or contemporary writers would you want to become a part of the club?

Nora Roberts, Iris Johannsen, Sandra Brown, Jayne Ann Krentz, Lee Childs, Daniel Silva, Eric Lustbader, David Morrell, Dean Koontz, Kendra Elliott, Stephen King, David Baldacci, John Grisham, Heather Graham, Christopher Grayson, Elmore Leonard, Linda Howard, Erica Spindler, Sharon Sala, Kay Hooper, Julie Garwoood, Melinda Leigh

Does fan mail still excite you as much as it did the first time you received it?

Oh my, yes.  Every time is as wonderful as the first time.
